About Maggie

In my extensive career as a nurse at the Royal Children’s Hospital, I learned that the healing of children improved markedly when they were engaged in play, song or art making. I realized the value and importance of art as therapy and consequently, I have studied it and practiced it, so that now it is the major factor I can offer people who need a catalyst for healing and general well being.

I am a professional art therapist and I love my job as you can see. I have extensive experience in working with people of all ages and abilities that have experienced trauma be that physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual.

This experience has taught me that the body experiences trauma be it large, small, once off, or repeated. The body is resilient, yet sometimes remnants of trauma remain. These trauma remnants may reveal themselves as anger, grief, sadness, depression, dissatisfaction or anxiety. Humans have an inbuilt self-healing drive, and the body will let us know there are things to work on.

This is where my services come in. I will help you to gently connect to your inner senses so what is held there can be heard and expressed via art, sound and movement.
